Ghosts from the Past (The Unremembered Part 2) brings back many of the characters that had readers wanting to know "the rest of the story." Commencing only a few months after the conclusion of its predecessor, Part 2 begins as Jake and Rebecca (now happily married) find that while love can sustain you, it does not, necessarily, provide sustenance. Faced with the harsh realities of life, Jake feels forced into accepting an unwanted position in town. Meanwhile, dramatic events unfold as Sioux Chief Yellow Bird and his daughter, Walks With Beauty, mark their return within the first few chapters of the novel. When Yellow Bird, the younger brother of Jake's departed friend Great Hunter, crosses paths with Jake, a hopeful outcome grows dimmer for all concerned.
