The Triumph of the Dark

The sun is setting on the legacy civilisation left behind by the Romans. No longer led and protected by the legendary King Arthur, and betrayed and plundered by their own, the kingdoms of Britain suffer from instability and become more vulnerable to attack. There is a need for a competent man to rise to prominence and offer new leadership to the warring Brythonic people. Following in the footsteps of King Arthur, a new king does rise to the apex of dominance but is the corrupting influence of power too strong?

Ten narrators tell of their lives as they struggle to survive in a country stumbling in the chaos of the Dark Ages, some of them weary of war or subjection, and all of them wanting something better for themselves and their communities. But one of the narrators is less concerned at the tragedy than the others: could it be that this individual will benefit from the Dark coming to Britain?

This is the final novel of the trilogy 'The Shadow of Avalon', which chronicles the time of King Arthur and the generation following him.
