When Warrain's friend, Lirra, a young medico in training, volunteers to aid them, Warrain makes sure he goes with her, determined to deal the Mechs a blow they will never forget. But then everything changes. A third moon appears in the sky, one of Imago's life-forms calls Warrain by name, and Warrain discovers love for the first time. As the third moon swings closer and the dangers multiply, Warrain finds himself in a deadly fight for survival. To protect those he loves and Imago's alien creatures, he must turn his back on the hate that has long sustained him and find a new way to live.
