Betrayed by self-centered Jane Haynes, sailor Yancy Curtis is on the run from a British noose. Journeying inland to wintry Virginia mountain country, he catches a ride in a rickety old wagon with a saintly but hopelessly ill-prepared former pharmacist and the man's mouthy daughter.
