The Stranger Casts a Long Shadow

A neglected young boy is adopted into a middle class family which never loses secret contact with his birth father, a career criminal. On reaching adulthood the son forsakes his middle class background to follow his father into the criminal world. Being very intelligent with a good education, he easily acquires various nefarious skills including shutting down alarms using computers and opening hi-tech safes to steal commercial secrets. His expertise becomes widespread in the criminal underworld and he eagerly accepts a new assignment for several million pounds - to steal the design of a secret government backed project. When murder paves the way for ruthless ambitions to be achieved, the tears begin to fall.
