The Story of Laila and Ajeet, a Level 4 Reader, is A2 in the CEFR framework. The longer text is made up of sentences with up to three clauses, more past and future tense structures, modal verbs and a wider variety of conjunctions.

Laila is kind and clever, but her father is the terrible Rajah. When Ajeet falls in love with her, the Rajah gives him a very hard job to do.
