About This Book

A high-speed car chase along a bayou road
shatters more than the late-night quiet.
In a cypress cabin on the edge of the trackless Atchafalaya Basin, Dylan and Susan St. John have found a quiet refuge from the mean streets of New Orleans. Deep in the Cajun country of South Louisiana, they have grown to love the bayous and back roads, but their marriage and lives are about to be shaken.
Late one night, a sports car pursued by a heavy Mercedes passes Dylan at high speed and he gives chase along a bayou road. In the shootout that ensues, he discovers that the woman he saved from assault is Becky Burke, his high school sweetheart. Having failed as an actress in Hollywood, she has returned to scout for a movie location. She persuades Dylan to help her pick a site as well as provide part-time security on the set.
But one man's smoldering vendetta turns to cold-blooded vengeance, threatening to destroy all that stands in the way.
A sinister conspiracy seems to prove Susan's worst fears about Dylan. Will the truth finally prevail?
