About This Book

When Ellen goes with her grandmother, Bon, to visit old friends, Bon expects her to act like a lady. And that means no snooping! But sometimes Ellen just can't help herself. Besides, it seems that no matter what she does Bon is never pleased. When Ellen finds a dead baby rabbit in the garden, Bon tells her to put it in the trash can, and she's not very understanding when she discovers that, instead of throwing the rabbit away, Ellen has hidden it under their bed. But Bon is most upset when Ellen is caught snooping in their hosts' bedroom. During this weekend full of revelations, Ellen finally realizes that there are better ways to satisfy her curiosity than snooping. She also learns that Bon--perfect Bon!--wasn't always well behaved when she was a girl. In this warm intergenerational chapter book, illustrated throughout with line drawings, grandmother and granddaughter grow closer when they realize how alike they truly are.
