About This Book

At first glance, Katherwood is a shock. The "mansion" April Carroll has inherited is a mess, one wall is completely burned down, and the whole structure is in disrepair. Haunted, too, according to the neighborhood children. But April, an industrial designer, is not easily daunted, and she feels some inexplicable link to the ramshackle building. If Lance, her fiance, wants to return to Washington, she'll simply do the renovation herself.

The restoration is difficult, but perhaps the hardest part is being alone so much of the time. Luckily, April meets her new neighbor, Brad Blosser. Aside from being a nice guy, he's awfully handy...and awfully cute. April wishes that Lance could understand her attachment to Katherwood the way Brad does. And then, in the attic, she finds a picture of a silver swan--a silver swan that links past and present, and could provide the key to April future...
