About This Book

Malin Strand is the female Scandinavian pilot on a ship from the Middle Eastern world of Al Namas. Old Earth has been in quarantine since the middle of the 21st century and mankind is spread among many worlds near the center of the galaxy. Malin and the crew of the Tafilalt are headed to the Russian world of Lenin to meet a shaman on the southern continent. They are due to collect a valuable shaman's drum for delivery to a shaman on the Middle Eastern moon of Safi. Lenin is the most beautiful of worlds and the southern continent has been reserved for Siberian and Saami reindeer herders. Captain Irfan Al Makahleh has brought his cousin Manal with them. Manal is suffering from a wasting disease contracted from a virus native to Al Namas and the shaman on Lenin has agreed to ask the Raven God Kutkh to heal her. Malin has never heard of the Raven God but the very mention of his name stirs something inside her.
