I shall never forget my first encounter with the Granger family...it seems strange that I could have been so blind about them...even then, right at the beginning, there were odd little signs that should have warned me. A spirit of neighborliness prompted lovely Sarah Vernon to welcome the Grangers to Hill Side; the need for money to pay her mother's medical expenses compelled her to become governess to Rebecca Granger.
