About This Book

A “white washed tomb full of dead man’s bones” describes the prestigious Jorgensen Seminary. Under the leadership of the flamboyant Dr. Reginald Thurgood it rose to become one of the world’s premier institutions of higher education. Along with that reputation came influence and power that reached across the academic, political, economic and religious realm. But beneath this veneer of excellence lay a deep and troubling secret. When the school was founded by a wealthy shipbuilding magnate Thor Jorgensen and his wife Ingrid, they had a desire to provide for those less fortunate to obtain a high quality education. In their will, they gave their vast fortune as an endowment to the school with the proviso that a certain percentage of each incoming class be provided a free education. As the stature of the school grew and admission became more prestigious, the resentment toward these beneficiaries amplified. Dr. Thurgood became intoxicated with his power and was corrupted by it. He saw the lottie program as a means to fulfill his own personal gratification. The students chosen were coerced into following his domination through threats, intimidation and blackmail. Maria Gonzales was chosen for two reasons. First, her Latin beauty was stunning, and second, her parents’ immigration status was questionable. What Dr. Thurgood and his small group of inner confidants did not take into account was Maria’s strength of character instilled in her by her parents. With the help of fellow classmate, Jack Klein, they strive to bring down this corrupt man.
