The Scientist on Assignment to Albania

Tom's latest book is The Scientist on Assignment to Albania. It is a sequel to his first book, The Scientist on Assignment to China. Tom has retired from being an Air Force Scientist. He goes on a mission trip to Albania with his wife, Karin. They go to meet and work with former Albanian military and their families. They had hosted these Albanian military in San Antonio as they were at a nearby Air Force base learning English to go onto further military training. Tom and Karin serve as Amigos for the U.S. Military program to expose these students to the U.S., our home, to our culture and American ways. So this trip to Albania was to help further that purpose and especially to direct them into local Christian churches there. While there, they planned to meet with these former students and their families. But Tom meets that top-secret guy, Colonel Wright, again. He gets Tom involved in a top-secret effort that the U.S. and Albania were involved in together. Tom reluctantly finds himself going all over Albania with some select Albanian military friends to find a stash of deadly nerve agent gases. They find the stash hidden by terrorists. Tom has to determine what the chemical agent is and reports that to Colonel Wright's people. Tom, in an exciting conclusion, is involved in helping to destroy these deadly gases. The story cuts across Albania, its people, its beauty, and old-time culture. Once communist, cut off from the world, Albania has become democratic and is entering into the modern world.
