The Rumor

Eli Schrock's life is pleasant enough. He likes his work as a farrier in his father's smithy. He likes the girl he's courting, Rebecca Hochstettler. Yet there is no passion for what he does or where he lives, and part of him yearns to see more of the world and get more of an education than the standard Amish eighth grade. When he meets Susanna Wittmer, though, everything changes. Her vibrancy and spunk immediately attract him, and the more he gets to know her, the more he realizes he never really loved Rebecca. But Rebecca isn't about to let him go so easily, and she's hatching a plan that could force him to marry her - or destroy all three of their lives forever...
