The Road to the Border

Mavis had grown accustomed to the fact that men found her glamorous sister Aline more attractive than her nondescript self. But when David MacAuchie came on the scene, for once she felt like competing with her sister.

She had got off to a head start, since her first meeting with David led her to travel with him by road to Scotland -- a long journey that gave her plenty of time to get to know him -- and to fall in love with him.

But what chance would Mavis ever have of gaining his love once Aline decided that this was yet another man who would not escape her clutches?
