About This Book

Collapse of the Soviet Union liberates many former satellites. Soldiers in those countries, no longer bound to Moscow, return to civilian life and take their Russian-supplied weapons with them. A ready market springs up, and two enterprising individuals, one a Turk, the other an Armenian, take advantage. They buy up surplus Kalashnikov assault rifles at bargain basement prices, then establish a network for transactions in the United States. Clandestine transport by sea allows large numbers of the firearms to reach port in Baton Rouge. From there, the weapons are sent to St. Louis for resale and distribution. Greed and mistrust afflict the criminal collaboration, but that does not alleviate the danger to Collins, and ultimately, to his wife.
