The Rising Son

Keiko Tochigi, the California-born daughter of Japanese immigrants, is looking forward to her high school graduation. That is until the death of her father's old friend brings his mysterious son to their farm to collect on a marriage contract the two men had made in Japan years ago.

Shoji Ibaragi, handsome and energetic, is everything a woman could hope for, but his aura of violence frightens Keiko and she balks at the arrangement. But when her father collapses from a heart attack, her guilt forces her to honor the contract. Can she learn to love a man who she knows nothing about? Is this really God's will?
