Vacation has arrived just in time to give Michael and Norman a chance to save their beloved sock-eating plants. The boys' parents have called for an end to the sock-eaters—and they haven't even learned that the troublemakers have started sprouting pods!

But bringing the sock-gobblers along and keeping them out of mischief is no easy task, particularly since a Florida vacation offers a lot more fun than watching plants. And trouble multiplies when a nosey scientist in a nearby campsite becomes far too curious about the mysterious plant life. Yet vacation disasters are minor compared to the disaster awaiting the boys at home.
