The Refuge

The Refuge is the second action/adventure thriller in Andi Neal's new series The Progeny Novels. Where the line between MAN and MONSTER has blurred... As a scientist, Dr. Griffin Maddox has spent his life dealing in facts, not legend or myth. But when a longtime friend recruits him to help track down a mysterious creature supposedly haunting the Okefenokee Swamp, Griffin can't seem to say no. Despite his better judgment and complete lack of faith that the creature even exists, he teams up with a wildlife photographer and starts the search. Intrigued and always game for a little weird and crazy, photographer Nick Dawson quickly agrees to accompany the quirky professor on his quest to find the elusive swamp ape of Okefenokee. But with mystery after mystery slowly surfacing, she soon realizes she's sinking too fast into boggy ground. And what started out as a simple game of hide and seek quickly turns into a deadly hunt between man and monster. Between Nick's many odd talents and despite Griffin's clumsy stumbles, the two manage to uncover a disturbingly sinister plot behind their cagey simian. They soon realize the supposed monster in the equation isn't the creature that has been eluding them, and the answer to all their questions lies within the boundaries of The Refuge.
