About This Book
THE RED BUS
This is the second in the highly popular, darkly comic, ‘Bus' series.
Trevor Singleton had one passion in life: the big red bus he drove every day. He was an avid fan of the TV comedy ‘On the Buses' and, having watched the film ‘Summer Holiday' more times than he can recall, he had a life-long plan for when he retired. He would purchase a second hand Routemaster, and take it on a road trip around the world.
However, his wife Prue had other ideas. She was equally determined he would spend his newly acquired time, and savings, on building an extension onto the rear of their house. It would make an ideal granny flat for her mother.
Trevor was fearful this could scupper his plans and dreams until, after an astonishing light bulb moment, he came up with a genius plan.
He'd combine the two.
For the time being, he'd place the bus at the bottom of the garden and convert the former transport vehicle into an ideal home for Beryl.
He was sure that was the best solution. Just as adamant, his wife wanted a home for her elderly mother and that did not mean, ‘A clapped out bus.'
Against all odds, he went ahead, much against the wishes of Prue, his mother-in-law, and the disapproving neighbours especially when the unthinkable happened and squatters moved into his newly adapted abode.
