About This Book

In The Reckoning, terrorists seize and destroy Air Force One, killing the Vice President of the United States and his family. Government officials soon learn that the President of Iraq, Salim Hamir, funded the operation. They also learn that this was the first of two planned deadly attacks on the U.S. The CIA sends two operatives into Iraq to learn the details and prevent the second attack. Their mission also includes finding and eliminating President Hamir. The two men sent on the mission are Ben Roberts, a former CIA operative, and Pete Kennedy, the secret service agent responsible for the protection of the Vice President and his family at the time of their death.
Ben Roberts' mission is to get close to Hamir by convincing him he is an ex-patriot rogue agent with an intense hatred of the American government. Ben uncovers the plans for the second strike - to destroy the Capital Mall while millions gather to celebrate Martin Luther King's birthday. Roberts and Kennedy must make their escape from Iraq, help Hamir's daughter get out of the country, and get back to the U.S. in time to stop the terrorists from bombing the nation's capitol.
