About This Book

The Ranch Girls and the Silver Arrow is the eighth in this nine-volume series. The girls are home, at Rainbow Ranch in Wyoming. Some years have passed. Jim Colter, the ranch manager has married Jacqueline Jack Ralston Kent, both of their spouses having died. Jim fathered four daughters with his first wife, and Jack has taken them as her own. The girls are 15, 14, 12 and 8, old enough to explore the ranch and its surroundings on their own. You will not be surprised to learn that exploration and adventure are closely linked, and you will not be surprised to discover the girls experience both. Seated at the edge of a secluded little lake, the girls are treated to an arrow falling from the sky, coming to rest point-down in the water close to where they sat. Intact except for the tip which had struck the lake's hard bottom, the girls, of course, retrieve it. The arrow becomes the symbol of a new club—the Club of the Silver Arrow. But, there is more to the arrow than simply serving as a touchstone. Much, much more, in fact.
