Regina Hawthorne is an undeniably pleasing and promising young lady. With her beauty, charm, and impeccable background, no one doubts that she'll soon have an offer from the eligible Lord Torrington. But Torrington, apparently, has other ideas, pledging his troth to another -- and leaving Miss Hawthorne with a humiliating reputation as "Rejected Regina"!

Jules, Lord St. Aubyn is known throughout the ton as a rake -- albeit one of extremely good breeding. Upon learning of Miss Hawthorne's predicament, he feels sympathy for the lovely young woman -- even as the seeds of a scheme take root. Jules is confident he can find a way to distract gossiping tongues from Regina's plight, in exchange for her help with a particular family problem.
