The President Vanishes

The President of the United States has vanished. As the guns of war begin to fire in Europe, wild rumors spread through the nation's capital. Some guess the right-wing Gray Shirts have kidnapped him. Others blame the Communists. But the Secret Service fears the culprit lies closer to the Oval Office. Every member of the Cabinet is suspect. The President's secretary is taken into custody. The richest banker in America, a powerful newspaper publisher and an influential steel lobbyist are all being carefully watched. Unless one of these men can be made to tell the truth, will a handkerchief, an empty chloroform bottle, and an abandoned van be enough to lead them to the President before it is too late?
