The novel, fiction is for the young generation but not only for them. It's from the 17.century when the glory of the Cardinal Richelieu and the Three Musketeers were still alive. “The Books Of The Fates,” describes the life of the twins, the boy Christopher and a little girl Elizabeth that Countess Henrieta hates. After she had stolen Christopher, and let strangers buried her own son Febien, the Countess is repeatedly asking her father, Earl Henri Balaret to send this family away from the manor due to, they could cause them misery. The Earl Balaret doesn't have the heart to do it and in addition, he has hired Katarine to work for his grandchildren as the governess because earlier when he was talking with the Father Vincent from the nearby parish, Earl Balaret knew, Katarine was well-educated.
This causes the nightmares for Countess Henrieta, who is desperately trying to do everything to get rid of Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, the life is very hard for this little girl, there at Earl Hanri's manor, Eveline is getting educated, taking many lessons to become a good governess at Countess Hedvika's manor who gave a promise to her niece, Katarine to take care of her.
