A Summer Like No Other

Ellis has a perfect summer planned. Horseback riding and working at a stable where world champion horses are trained is like a dream come true. But before the summer even begins, Ellis's mother comes up with one of her bright ideas for doing "good work." She's volunteered to take an underprivileged child for the summer. The trouble is, when Ellis's mother volunteers, somebody else ends up doing the good work. This time it's Ellis and, to make matters worse, ten-year-old Lilac is a very bratty, unlikable little girl, who turns Ellis's summer into one adventure after another...and changes her life forever.
