The Poet and the Maestro

Rookie F.B.I. agent, Michelle Thompson is assigned to what appears to be a routine matter, but when she uncovers evidence from a crime of espionage committed more than twenty-five years ago she learns this case will be anything but routine. Her investigation will link the present day murder of a Polish national staying in a New York hotel to Cold War era espionage. Her investigation will lead her to a present day spy known as The Maestro and a mysterious figure who bares the same name as an Old World Polish poet who may be a terrorist. Who is the Maestro and who is this man with the poet's name? Is he a murderer or a hero? As her investigation proceeds Michelle Thompson must navigate a gauntlet of trained assassins while fighting interagency rivalries, jurisdictional disputes and a bureaucracy of her own superiors who doubt her competence. Her investigation will revive old spy vs. spy rivalries that will leave a trail of dead bodies, one of which could very well be her own.
