Ever since her family had been split up on her parents' death, the dream of Kerry's life had been to trace her to two young sisters -- and now at last she had managed to do it! Like herself, they had both been adopted -- but their circumstances could not be more different.

Michelle's parents were poor, and she and they needed all the financial help they could get. Avril, on the other hand, was a wealthy heiress, now living in Barbados, with everything she could possibly want. Excitedly Kerry realised that all she had to do was make herself known to Avril, who would give Michelle all the help she needed and their problems would be at an end.

There was just one snag; Wayne Harvey, Avril's uncle and keeper of the purse-strings, who not only refused to believe that Kerry was her sister at all, but would not be convinced that she was anything but a cheap little gold-digger!
