The Pirelli Affair

Navy Lieutenant John Newell is called to Washington unexpectedly during the height of the Vietnam war. The CIA has discovered disturbing trend while doing damage assessments for the Air Force bombing missions. The North Vietnamese appear to be getting advanced notice of the targeted areas. Someone is providing the information and Lieutenant Newell is asked to find the leak. He finds the leak in the Pentagon but also uncovers a link to organized crime and the drug pipeline that is using government transportation to ship large quantities of drugs into the U.S. He and his team back track the drugs to Oakland, California, then to the Philippines, and finally to Vietnam. Newell follows the trail all the way, with the help of various government agencies. He is surprised when he learns that the supplier is an old enemy from his earlier tour of duty in Vietnam, but welcomes the opportunity for revenge.
