Could 4th Century CE Romans have crossed to America and left evidence of their coming? Given the time span of the empire, the design of their ships and freak weather conditions, it was surely inevitable. Late in the reign of the western emperor Constans, a legionary force sailed from Gloucester for France but was blown off-course by freak winds that eventually took it all the way to the Chesapeake Bay. Compelled to remain there for two years, the Romans got embroiled in local native politics and even built a fortress before suddenly disappearing .... In our times, an international peace terrorist demands global nuclear missile disarmament as his price for calling off satellite-borne laser attacks on rocket launches worldwide. While at the same time, a sick electronics tycoon with an obsession about Roman remains in America goes missing in the Chesapeake Bay area. Could there be a connection?
