According to Albert Elnstein, "No problem can ever be solved out of the same level of consciousness that created it." If humanity's gravest problem is war, then to reach a world beyond war demands that we lift ourselves to a higher level of consciousness. Nothing else has ever managed to end man's inhumanity to man. Human sacrifice, slavery, divine right of kings, inequality of women – all these aberrations were considered to be inherent laws of life, not to be challenged or changed. Yet when enough men and women rose to a higher level of consciousness, they struck down the ancient bondages.
Our liberation from the curse of war will happen in much the same way.
But when and if it happens will depend on you and me. All of us. The choice we make between our two most powerful emotions: fear and courage.
