The Passion and the Fury

From the veranda of Courtland, their vast Carolina plantation in South Carolina, beautiful Emma Jean (E.J.) Devere and her maverick brother, Jackson John, watch as the radical Negro Militia march grimly through the night, flaming torches held high, on a rendezvous with terror.

The gallant South shattered in defeat into a dozen violent factions, must struggle with the night riding Ku Klux Klan on the one hand -- and the torchlight legions of the Negro Militia on the other. Unbeknownst to Jackson John, who risks his life putting out an antislavery paper, E.J. enters into a flirtation with the KKK -- while at the same time finding herself drawn into a passionate involvement with a mysterious man from the North.

The passion and the fury is set to burst over a wounded and defeated land and her sons and daughters.
