Vampire Wilhem Walengrave has to find The Vampire Queen of America' missing Oracle. Along the way he has to catch Rogues on the loose in the Fort Worth/Dallas Metroplex and deal with his usual problems with his many women and The Goddess of the World's End.
Set in a universe where Supernaturals coexist with Humans, where they still have occasional problems getting along. Wilhem Walengrave is Master of the City of Fort Worth, Texas and surrounding areas. He doesn't take the job as seriously as he should.
In the Oracle and The Vampire, The Vampire Queen of America has misplaced her Oracle and she asks Wil to help her find him. She seeks his aid because the Goddess of the World's End, an occasionally powerful presence, is living under his roof. Wil also works at the Vampire Consulate, where he tracks down Rogues, outlaw Supernaturals, for his boss Fedor.
The story deals with Wil's sex life, his battles, and a number of things blowing up and burning around him. He also has a bit of trouble with some Dwarfs and a portrait painter.
