For seven years Anne Lessways had been bored with her job as a teacher. Then while changing trains when travelling to spend a vacation with her aunt, she met Lady Gillian Haymer, a girl who could have been her double. An audacious scheme was put to Anne that she would impersonate Gillian for a week during Gillian's absence with a boyfriend.
