About This Book

Diamond Carter is a Normal, a human with no genetic enhancements. He is about to turn eighteen and he must choose a mate. In the Norm Preserve, choosing a mate is one of the most basic laws. It is a law that cannot be violated. While viewing his potential mates on the Video Machine, Diamond glimpses a human beyond his comprehension. He sees Terra and her strikingly beautiful white wings. Terra is not from the Preserve. Terra is an outsider, a genetically enhanced human with the ability to fly. Rather than choosing a mate, Diamond sets out on an impossible path, something that has not been attempted since the establishment of the Norm Preserves. He seeks to find the woman with the white wings. This path becomes something much more than merely finding a mate. Tapping into a vast computer network he learns that someone or something is trying to bring them together and in the process discovers that the impossible path he chose to follow has only just begun.
