The New Breed

The New Breed, the third in the Fire and Ice vampire series continues Adrian and Carmen's story with their child Rurik, who is both vampire and slayer as the prophecies foretold. Their enemies realize with this new breed's abilities that the society will become more unstoppable as Rurik grows. Benedict, Carmen's continuing adversary, threatens her and Rurik's lives creating discourse within the society.

They encounter a large vampire criminal element on a trip to Las Vegas. Carmen is kidnapped when it's discovered she has extra abilities at a poker game and beats everyone at the table.

On a trip to Hawaii they become stranded on a deserted tropical island. It seems like paradise until it quickly becomes apparent that Adrian has nothing to eat to sustain him. Modern day pirates land on the beach and a life and death daily struggle in sues to survive.

Many changes are in their near future with Adrian taking over as the leader of the secret vampire society and Carmen at his side.
