Amanda Kelly has come to Boone's Crossing, Tennessee, to recover from the loss of her baby. She finds a kindred spirit in Ian Bonner, a man who, in his teens, gave up a son for adoption. Ian is so wonderful, so kind, so handsome, but Amanda won't let herself get emotionally involved. Because the one thing he wants she can never give him -- a baby.
