The Mysterious Stranger

Surprised to find a strange man in her barn, Sarah Bender takes pity on the fellow and allows him to stay the night. A winter storm is brewing, and he seems harmless enough. But when she finds her Daed unconscious on the barn floor the next day—supposedly knocked out by the mysterious visitor—she decides to head to town for some answers. In town, though, Sarah is met with more questions than answers. Samuel Zook, a man on her father's crew, has been murdered, and a new detective has shown up to investigate the case. But the detective seems to have his own ideas, and not trusting him, Sarah begins her own investigation. Could Jonas, the man from the barn, be tied to this murder somehow? Now, with a promise to a young girl weighing on her heart, Sarah digs deeper to find the truth—and face a new truth blooming inside her.
