Two warring states decimated by bloodshed, famine and pestilence over the abduction of a woman - such was the siege of Troy: the soldiers on both sides were heroes and lived lives of honor. But in that age of superstition these fierce proud warriors, the heroes of their people, were putty in the hands of the prophesying priests.
Even more vulnerable were the women who were caught in the strife. Briseis, struggling not to love her captor Achilles, proud Andromache, Hector's queen, and the bewitching Chryseis, enslaved by cruel Agamemnon....
The war of Trojan Ilios was also their story.
