      The Morning Breaks is the first of three books outlining the fictional history of the family of Joseph Thomas Perkins and his wife Margaret Martin, Welsh Mormon pioneers through the 19th Century to the mid-20th Century. The Morning Breaks tells the beginnings of the Perkins family in Wales, where the family struggles to make a living in the coal fields of Glamorganshire in the 1840's and 50's. Their story parallels that of the LDS church in Wales until they emigrate with hundreds of fellow Welsh saints to Utah.
