The Moon Comes Nearer

Jenny Peters, ex-CIA, returns as a P.I. in this pulse-pounding crime thriller of Kafkaesque proportions, complete with its surreal distortions. When Peters exposes a "model citizen" to be a pedophile, she inherits a hornets' nest of legal complications. Her life is endangered; her professional ethics questioned. Six months later, in a sudden twist, the pedophile is killed while holidaying in Cancun. Peters is implicated in his murder. She, of course, had the motive. Convicted in the court of public opinion, she is hounded by the media, pursued by the law and the lawless alike. Meanwhile, a faceless nemesis—a brilliant psychotic calling himself the Jaguar, murders the people around her leaving a trail of evidence that incriminates Peters as a serial killer. But there is a witness who can clear her name. A precocious child holds the key to her nemesis' identity—a child who may already be condemned. Peters must find La Niña before the Jaguar grabs her. In the ensuing climax, the niña becomes a pawn in an apocalyptic nightmare of blood, gore, and wits.
