The Master of Jethart

From her mother, over the years, Belinda McLean had heard the story of Old Jethart -- a house of enchantment in a land of dreams, to be visited by them both, when lost in misery in the back street city brickdust.

The mind of a child can race many skies and meet many strangers, from "Old Trad", who teaches trust in humanity, to Mrs. Greastly, who tries to destroy it. In the wonderland of Old Jethart, Belinda's mind awakens gradually to the presence of mystery and danger from the past. It seems that the Scottish mist-fingers of the Highlands can reach out from beyond the grave.

In the end, Belinda finds her destiny with the black Master of the house of Old Jethart, and her talisman, the Garry-Monkey, is no unimportant part of her life.
