Emerson Gentry has he hands full, not only is his youngest brother an outlaw, he's also the lone lawman for Rutgers Ridge. When a schoolteacher arrives with her beautiful sister in town, he is drawn into a yet another conflict.

Madeline Conner hates the west. After long hours traveling west on a trail followed by an uncomfortable stagecoach ride, the destination failed to impress her. What does however is the town's handsome marshal.

In the midst of a dispute between the upright religious townsfolk, and the brothel occupants, someone accuses Maddie of wanton behavior. If they only knew whom she was with, the town may never be the same again.
