The Marriage Bargain

THEY WERE MARRIED IN NAME ONLY.

To all appearances it was a grand affair-the marriage between Valentina Woodville and the Marquis of Stockdale. All London Society was present.

But what was not known was that Valentina and Stockdale had made a pact to get divorced by the year's end--provided she pretended to be the perfect wife until then.

Valentina was grateful for her husband's understanding. For she loved another and her parents had forced her into this marriage.
