The Marquess and Miss Yorke

Thus defiantly did Tiffy Yorke introduce herself to the marquess of Delamaine. She expected no more from him than from anyone else in England--condescension, contempt and freezing disapproval.

Instead, Courteney offered her sympathy, understanding and staunch friendship. However, it was his disreputable, dashing cousin who awoke Tiffy to passion. It was for Jago, not Courteney, that she transformed herself from an American hoyden to the toast of Bath.
