About This Book

Sydney Watson was a British author who popularised rapture fiction. The Rapture is a prophesied event in Christian eschatology, in which Christians will be gathered together at the return of Christ; even Christians who have died are to be resurrected to participate in the coming of Christ. His works include: In the Twinkling of an Eye (1910), Scarlet and Purple (1913) and The Mark of the Beast (1915). "The desire of the author of "The Mark of the Beast" has been to further "startle" and awaken "careless, ill-taught professing Christians, " by giving some faint view of the fate of those professors who will be "left behind" to go through the horrors of The Tribulation.
