About This Book
The Earth you knew is not the Earth I lived in. My Earth was hundreds of years after yours. It was one filled with chaos. Our greatest problems were not nuclear warheads or biological weapons. Those ones were the first problems that were solved, including poverty and health problems. The United States succeeded in becoming a United Earth. Now, after years of all-out war, then minor altercations between and Earth and her surrounding galaxy neighbors, the talks of peace began again. We should have a United Galaxy. I'm not a pessimistic, not all of the time, but I could have told them that it was never going to work. We were too different from our planetary neighbors.
We just got back from yet another Planetary Summit to discuss about peace between the different planets in our galaxy. They had become necessary, especially after the incessant war between the planets had resulted in Earth's regression.most of the major wars were waged when I was a little girl. Many people lost one person or the other during that time. People were displaced, or just simply had no means to survive. Many died during that time until the government intervened. Many years after, the long-awaited peace talks were finally in the works. The only problem was, the peace talks failed and opinions were divided on the matter. I was not too surprised by how events played out. Each planet wanted different things; each in pursuit of their own agenda. It was too easy to move from gentlemanly discussions to loud shouts across the room and threats against Planetary leaders. I would never have believed such things possible if I had not witnessed them myself. Even on our own small warship tempers flared and the crew struggled to see reason with those in command, especially after they found out the results of the peace talks.
The Lone Survivor: Survivors Guilt is about a Hispanic woman soldier who is on board a Earth ship charged with a diplomatic mission of making peace with a violent race of aliens. The aliens already committed an act of genocide and destroyed one of Earth's colonies. Members on board the ship had family and friends on the colony and aren't able to see clearly through the fog of rage. The crew mutinies and the powers in charge of the ship are quickly overthrown. Can she make a difference, can she stop the crew from making a mistake that will end with Earth no longer existing.
