The Last Skunk Ape

The skunk ape exists! But his territory is shrinking with the constant encroachment of humans which disrupts the creature's normal life cycles. They are all but extinct in the present day and unable to adapt to the changing environment--except for one. He lives at the fringes of human society, seeking a different path to survival. Will his notoriety doom him, or will he create a bond with a certain lawman that will ultimately save his life?
