About This Book

The Killers Granite is one of the toughest materials known to man. You need special tools to work it. Max Grannit is tough too: he has to be to survive the trouble he keeps getting himself into. Now, soon after his ordeal at the hands of the black hats, Grannit saves the life of a beautiful young woman in a New York street. Later, she escapes being killed again. She asks Grannit to act as her bodyguard for a couple of weeks. But, because she will tell him very little, Grannit is reluctant. But he finally agrees. "Why?" she asks him. "Because I'm pretty dumb, I suppose," Grannit says. "And because I need the dough. And because I'm a sucker for a lady in distress. And because I'm an even bigger sucker for a pretty lady in distress. And because I'm an even bigger sucker than that for a mysterious pretty lady in distress. So yes, against my better judgment, I shall take the job." He pauses. Then he turns and fixes Kate with a thumbtack stare. "I hope I'm not going to regret this decision," he says. Grannit's duties take him from New York, to London, and then to Provence. In the bay of Cannes, something big is brewing. But what? Grannit starts to think he has an easy job; but soon, almost alone with Kate, he has to save the civilized world… About 61000 words.
