About This Book

Human Trafficking is a global problem almost on a par with the drug trade. The slave trade is now a 35 Billion Dollar a year business, and the traffickers are ruthless. 80% of those trafficked are forced into the sex trade, and the biggest demand is for children. The average age is eleven years old. The slave trade was abolished in the US over a hundred and fifty years ago, but the trade is thriving. Every state has its own problems and very often their own laws to enforce. This story highlights what can happen to perfectly innocent children, homegrown and imported, who find themselves at the mercy of these truly awful people who exploit them with no remorse. It also shows how difficult it is for law enforcement, especially the FBI, to find these kids and prosecute their captors. Although the book is very harrowing at times, there are good endings for some of the victims, just as there are in real life. I hope you enjoy the book and that it makes you more aware of this dreadful business.
